MY MOTHER

I've been missing my mother lately, she was quite a woman. She basically raised three children while working fulltime at a commercial laundry. I remember the things I liked about her that she taught me, like being honest and obedient and I'm so greatful for that. She also taught me how to make a bed properly and I still do it to this day. I loved her flour tortillas she made and I have never found any that were as good s hers. I remember how to make them but haven't done it. Her Mexican food was exellent!! and anyone who ate it would totally agree. She made the best tamales and no one has ever topped it. How i wish I could eat her cooking again. That was the one thing I wish I had learned to do is learn to cook like her. I can't wait to see her again and talk to her again.

So many blessings

I must have done something right in my life, I have the most amazing family. All my grandkids are great. Here I am living at David's and seeing these grandkids and what they accomplish. Sara is amazing, she is doing so well in school, she's singing in a concert choir here in Nampa, she's working making herself a dress and working on her personal progress and best of all she has a very sweet spirit. The boys are working hard and making it on their own.

Regina's kids are doing great, Rickie has a job he loves and is loving his family, Valerie is talented at working with children. Beth dshas a wonderful family and her Dexter is just the sweetest thing, I can tell by the pictures.

Lisa's boys are keeping busy at school and sports and growing up to be wonderful young men. Michael is coming home from his mission in a month and we're so looking forward to seeing him again. Mike is building their new home which should be finished I would guess by September.

Theresa and her family are doing great, She certainly knows how to make money with the talents she pocesses. She's got a good husband and very smart boys, I know they'll do some great things in their lives.

Dorothy with her sweet spirit will always be a blessing in my life. She's so good to her family and Natalia and Manuel are working hard to take care of their family.

Jim is a go getter and works hard in his business and as usual is always ready to help someone in need. Eddie is right there with him working along side him.

So, what can I say, I feel so blessed. I'm happy with my family, they're the greatest.

So sad it's over

Well my mission is over and it's so sad. Had a wonderful visit with my Zone Leader and he gave me some things to thnk about, I just may come back. The temple assignment is over as well, since I will be moving to Nampa, Idaho to live with David and Ladelle. I will miss my girls, but thank goodness for cellphones. I am so greatful that the Lord has opportunities for us when we retire from work, we need not feel useless, there is always work to be done in the Lord's church. I'm excited to serve, and know that there's more for me to do where ever I live. So we'll see what happens, I just might decide to serve a full-time mission and come back to the Salt Lake Family History Library, who knows what a year may bring. I'm leaving some very good friends who will still be there another year. I love my Zone Leader, he and his wife began the same time I did on the mission and they will be there another six months and when they finish, they will stay and serve at the library. My Zone Leader, Elder Teeples, has known President Monson many years and gave me a run down on who the man is, and all he has done and accomplished in his life. I want to get the book To The Rescue and learn more about this wonderful man the Lord has called to be our Prophet. I love this church!!!

Things on my mind

Well, I've been thinking about my mission and that it's ending soon. Already I am getting teary andsad for it to end. I've met some wonderful people on this mission and will miss them greatly. The thing I love most about the time I've spent at the Family History Library, is that my testimoy has grown and I love the spirit that is felt there within it's walls. Helping patrons gives me a great feeling of love, to see how excited they are when they find what they're looking for and they think we're so amazing to have helped them in their search. I'm going to try to extend, but it doesn't look too good right now. However, I can still work at the Temple and I love it there, the spirit is just as wonderful and I love my fellow workers. When I move, I'll be going to Idaho and live with David and Ladelle and get to be closer to their family. I have another Great Granddaughter due in April this year, and I'm looking forward to being close to her. I can't remember if they've picked out a name for her yet. Things are happening for me right now that keeps me busy and thinking all the time. I love my girls and will miss them so much when I leave, it's going to be hard for me.
